“I Volunteer as Tribute” is a charity project encouraging people who see The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 to fight hunger by donating to one of the charities below and contacting your local legislatures.

When you do, use the hashtag #IVolunteeredasTribute to spread the word through Twitter and Facebook!

We know Hunger Games fans want to be strong and self-sacrificing like Katniss. We want you to know that you can be, and you don’t have to put your life on the line to do so. Volunteer to fight poverty through a donation—we encourage donations that match your ticket price, but any amount is welcomed. Even $1 provides multiple meals to the one of the 50 million hungry people in America and invests in long-term solutions for solving world hunger.

Katniss’s physical strength and her sense of hope were restored with two loaves of burnt bread that she had to split with her mother and sister. Imagine what multiple meals would have done.
